Title: Which setup?
Post by: Blackie20vt on 26 September 2012, 10:13
Going to change my suspension this weekend. the question im asking is, Jom coilovers, Koni STR.T, or eibach spring with Blistien b4 shocks?

also, while i'm there, what other changes would you recommend while i'm at the front end? ARB? bushes?

ive had eibach springs, and now im on JOM coilovers. Depends how low you want to go mate! The eibachs were awesome, handled well and lowered it slightly.
The JOMs are really good for the price and you can go as low as you dare really. The ride quality is great!
If you are going super low i would change the arb as you do get rubbing, i need to change mine haha!
All up to you mate!

I got 60mm drop springs atm, just don't like it so low so i was thinking on the 40mm, will i still get the rubbing?

i doubt you will get rubbing on a 40mm drop, i am only just getting it now and my coilovers are wound nearly all the way down

cutting it a bit fine if you want to do it this weekend arn't you?

Don't go with springs if you're unsure about ride height, as you're stuck with that you get.,

get a decent set of coilovers, and you can adjust the ride height to your hearts content.

If you just want to go low and look good, then things like JOM and cheapy stuff are OK, if you want it to handle well you're looking at at least £500 on something like the weitec Hicon GT's or perhaps the AP's at about £400. even then you're only just scratching the surface of decent suspension....

i'm not going to fit them this week, i'm going to buy them. Think i'm going to go for the blistein and eibach.

what is included in the s3/TT set up? i want to fit the whole lot in one go.

not 100% sure but i think its wishbones and bushes etc from a TT and the S3 struts upper and lower for the front, still pricing etc for it though

This little lot is all you need really

TT rear wishbone bushes
Standard front wishbone bushes
New front top mounts and bearings
Skoda fabia vrs rear axle bushes

That will cost you -£100 and is worth every penny

If you get coilovers get a arb which goes under the shafts see maintenance section for info
