Title: Yamaha R1 freshen up and protection
Post by: butler2.8i on 25 September 2012, 17:58
Yamaha R1 freshen up and protection

Not a massive write up as the owner had wanted a few little marks taking out of his paint work and some decent protection putting on.
The paint work and carbon fibre were worked by hand using dodo juice limeprime and a hand polishing pad, this was then buffed and Prima Amigo applied before being buffed.
It then received 2 coats of Swissvax Shield which were left for approx 30min each before being buffed leaving me with this

whoever rides it will be sliding all over as the tank will now be slippery

i never use anything other than soapy water on the tank as it makes braking much harder on the arms if you cant grip the tank

I know the owner has not had any issues and has just returned from a week of touring Scotland.
