Title: Bcm module for led rear lights
Post by: ravydav on 25 September 2012, 11:41
I have recently purchased rear R leds (Much thanks to KennyGti) and what a difference, looks miles better but after playing around with vag-com the warning lights for lights will not code, i think it's because is an 09 car. Therefore i'm looking to get a new Bcm, i'm wondering if anyone has the exact part number for the Bcm I am after. Car has xenons as standard, rear leds and I will be picking up vw rear led number plate lights shortly. If anyone has the part number it will be a great help

I have just coded my 2009 bcm for the led rears. My car also have xenons and I thought all 2009 cars with factory xenons can code 04 in byte 18

I replaced my BCM for Rear LEDs

The BCM part number was 1K0937087D.

Cheers,

Jim

I have tried to change to 04 in byte 18 but does not work, Is your car 09 or 59?

I fitted R rear led's to my 09 GTI didnt need a new BCM, from what i read a long time ago if VW upgrade the software you wont need to change the BCM, but they are very reluctant to do it.
Luckily my car was in the dealers the week before i fitted the lights as the alarm kept going off and they had to do some sort of software update. Steve P checked the coding and though it was something to do with the VW software upgrade.

Mine is an early 59. I will connect my laptop later and get the BCM number for you

There's a thread on VW Votex site which has lots of info on coding the rear LEDS, I used this to get mine coded. It's a 2010 (model and I had to use 15 at byte 18 to get the lights working properly.

See thread - http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4898893-LED-tail-Install-with-or-without-Rear-Fog.

Away at work the now so just trying to sound people out, as you know from when down the road can't use vag-com too much as battery dying, getting that looked at when get home and friend who works at vw looking into possible software update to BCM. Need to physically look at BCM to get exact part number and take it from there, i've seen it done on other 09 cars no problem so here's hoping a bit of fettling and it will come good. How's the new wheels? Can't view pictures on computers out here but i'm sure it looks sweet, maybe i'm biased but red is definetly the best colour.

Red is the best colour mate

Loving so I am, completely different drive and feel to the GTI. Just wish this weather would clear up so I can have some fun in it!

Heres a link I saw, not sure if you have seen it before:

Now that you have the 4wd it should be fun time all the time.when I left yours I had a wee bit of fun on the way back, but if was dry would've had a bit more of a carry on.
