Just thought id wack one of these up seen as though ive just joined this forum :smiley:
Been a keen admirer or golfs especially MK 2 GTI's, been looking around for a decent well kept one but had no look so far, anybody got any tips as to where i can pick one up? :smiley:
I look forward to the banter and helpfullness this forum has to offer. :grin:

It's beautiful isn't it. I wouldn't mind buying this and spending a couple k sorting out the engine mods and then a few hundred quid on a paint correction and engine bay clean up.
Loads a history with it!

sounds like a good plan to me, id love to do it if i had any idea how to :laugh:
i am looking for a project though and this could be the right car for the job, might pop down and take a look at it sometime just to check how mint it is and how smoothly it runs, would hate to buy my first golf then have the engine blow a week later :rolleyes:

Get some tips of the mkII thread about potential banana skins. Or you could just kick each tyre and if you jar at least one toe on each corner, it'll be good for a few years minimum :grin:
