My cars black and the Mrs is white.
When I detail mine it looks stunning but when I give it a quick wash to clean it it does nothing for me.
However when I give my Mrs, white car a quick clean, it is so much more satisfying as you can literally see the dirt wipe away leaving a clean car. It kind of inspires me to do hers more than mine

That's one super shiny, wet look GTI (and A1). Top job! Really like the anthracite Watkins Glen wheels.

Black looks fantastic after a good clean, polish and wax, but having had 5 black cars in the past, I know what a labour of love it is to keep them looking that good. I've had white too, and like both, but I think white is easier maintain if you're short of time.

I find my Carbon Grey GTD seems to stay looking cleaner for longer than my black mk4 and mk5 did. Seeing your super-clean pair has put me in the mood to do my pre-winter detail, once the weather improves!

Sucker for punishment with 2 black cars, they both look great mind from your efforts

My wife and I both have white cars which I hate, and the fact we have a Leon FR and Golf GTi looks like his & hers, we just need matching waterproof coats...

Ah Black is best, well at least for a day and with you on keeping one.

Almost every VAG car ive owned has been black, cant stay away but it gets on average 52-60 washes a year to keep it mint or between washes a jet wash on the drive...... :nerd:

Having two black cars would drive me insane. One dark colour one is enough for me.

I use Blackfire gel...it seems to last for a couple of weeks and leaves a gloss shine...

I use this currently, but might change dependent on cost....

.....lasts about 3 weeks covering 200 miles a week, round the Devon twisties. It costs about £6-7-8 and you get a foam applicator.

How much do you pay for Blackfire, it looks fantastic!

It cost me £19.50...here's the write up...

Blackfire Total Eclipse Tyre Gel is without any doubt one of the best tyres dressings on the market today. We use it on a regular basis in our studio whenever our customers request a high gloss finish on their tyres. Blackfire Total Eclipse Tyre Gel goes on very easily with little fuss or mess, and produces a rich looking finish that can easily be adjusted in terms of the shine level. The formula gives a glossy look upon initial application, but then dries to give a rich satin black finish in around 1-2 hours. If more gloss is desired, a second application 10 minutes after the first will produce a higher gloss finish once dry. Durability is excellent for a water-based dressing; under typical British weather conditions each application usually lasts for a minimum of three weeks, and if multiple layers are applied then four weeks or more is realistically achievable.

Hmmm I use PoorBoys Tyre Gel just now. Gets good write ups on deatailing world, but sometimes ends up up the side of my car. Was hoping the stuff you used wasnt a gel, but will probably just be more or less the same product. Is there any wax applications out there?

I use the Blackfire Tire Gel too.

I also have Migliore Bella Lustra. Less glossy but spray on, wipe and no sling.

My neighbours already think I'm off the scale with my twice a week car cleaning. We have an agreement though - no pressure washers before the hours of 0830.
