Title: SINGLE WIPER PROBLEM

We recently got a 91 golf with a single wiper conversion already carried out. Not my cup of tea, but not to worry doesn't look ridiculous..

Anyhow, it sweeps across the screen fine, but on the return sweep it judders across the drivers view point.

The wiper blade looked a bit scrawny so i nipped down halfords and picked up a Bosch one with a spoiler.
Much beefier , but still it bloody well jutters across my line of vision!!!!

Any one else had this problem?
Got a remedy?

The actual wiper arm looks a bit flimsy ??  Maybe i should pinch one off a Merc !!!!

Take it off... Go back to standard....

IMO - Its a Chav mod... Something u'd see on ya SR Nova.... :cool:

have you tryed cleaning the window screen with t-cut or some think like that ?? as i had the same  thing and it did the job for me but if you do take it of and go back to twin wiper would you let me know and i will see about buying the single one off you if you wish to sell it

did this happen recently? single wipers can look gud on mk2's if they are done right.

something to do with the mechanism i recon

Bought the car two weeks ago. so wiper like this already.

will get some glass polish, that may help.

knobby you're right - single wiper is a bit 'chav', single head light too.... lol :wink:

Yeah id never have a single head light... Always fine one either side is best!  :laugh:

does it judder even if the wiper is lifted away from the screen?

Have you tried gently twisting the arm so as to make sure the blade is at 90 degrees to the screen , as I have found this is often all you need to do to cure juddering :huh: :smiley:
