Title: mk2 leather rear seat wont fit in my mk1??

hi i have just got a set of mk2 leather seats for my mk1. the front fit fine but the rear bench is a different angle to the one i have taken out! now i have seen mk1's with the same leather in them! so whats the crack, what do i have to do to get them to fit? cheers rob  :smiley:

As you have already found out they are not a straight swap! I seem to remember someone discussing this before so do some searching :)

Easy way - get the MK1 rear bench recovered in the same leather. Certainly easier than messing the car up. :wink:

there must be some way to do it! think i can change the angle of the rear bench with a grinder, i think that should do it! cant be bothered spending anymore cash than i have to!  :smiley:

Sorry, I can't help. I have fitted mk2 front seats to a mk1, straight swap............but rear seat, I have never done. I'm sure there is someone on here that has done it.................
