as title realy after a low temp thermo for my vr just looking for the best place to get one not the kinda thing i wanna get from gaybay chears
-
try vwspares or gsf
-
was thinking gsf
-
by the looks of it gsf dont do a low temp one
-
Why do you want a low temp one, not even sure if they are available.
-
just realised what i did want a low temp fan switch as trying to work out if my new engine temp sensor is a dud,
since stripping the front end not confident on the cooling
-
You can get one from a site. It's vr6 something  they do a very good manifold and decat too.
I have a 70c thermostat
-
Dub power do them, I personally wouldnt put a 70c stat in
The car will be cold all the time during winter and running the start up map!
-
That's the one!
Do you have one to say if it stays cold in winter? Tried one out and tested it?
oil still sits over 90 so engine runs fine.
-
Yup had one, as you say oil temps fine bit MPG down because the cooling system stat open earlier
If your stat etc is all good the cooling system will work spot on, no need for a lower temp stat
-
I have seen many threads on different forums in regard to issues caused by lower temp thermostats.
-
Maybe I should change mine then. Not on the road so not a problem for me
-
They are good in the summer, but can be hit and miss during the winter :(
-
why dont you put a manual override switch for the fan? so you can flick it on earlier yourself? and if you forget it will stil come on automaticly?
-
was considering putting a override in, 70 is a bit low for what i want realy did see a 82 someware just cant find it again thanks for the replys guys
-
I think a 13 row oil cooler would be much better
-
Awesome and Venom used to stock lower temp thermostats and earlier kick in fan switches for VR6's.
-
thanks tweed will look in to awsome sure thats ware i saw the 82oc ones
-
im 100% sure a mate of mine got a low temp thermostat for his 8v (years ago) unless it was the fanny switch
