Title: Laptop under £400.
Post by: Mikester on 21 September 2012, 10:44
Im looking to purchase a laptop for a family member. The use will be internet browsing and a bit of word/excel. No gaming etc. They do not want a tablet.

Restrictions are:

Under £400.
Needs to be bought and in my hands by Saturday afternoon. (So probably from a high street retailer)

What brand models do you think?

based on the fact i actually work in pc world, i really would not recommend this, if you look deep into the specs of this machine, the processor is less than, get ready for it, an iphone! yet it has to run a full on windows 7 system, you would be better going with the same basic machine, but the one at £329. the processor is an intel core i3, which is more than twice the core clock speed.

10% cost for 150% extra performance really..

Cool, I ordered the HP G6 (i3 model) in the end and its actually pretty decent, for what it costs and what I need to use it for  £349 but I got £30 off so I'm happy
