Title: Rocker Cover :s
Post by: Adz Gti on 20 September 2012, 13:08
Ok so yesterday i made a few phone calls to some powder coaters, nearest one to me i could find was in Peckham, south london, so he gave me a price on my rocker cover £80 in matt red or gloss red.

I am going to do this but just for reassurance will the paint crack or peal will it once the engine warms up ?

cheers guys

that paint looks good however if it was me, first I would research what temp the rocker can get to, then I would buy paint with a decent name to it. Remember to seal it with "engine laccer"

why use a spare?? i done mine whilst it was on the car

disconnect the coil packs, and remove oil cap
plug holes with news paper
cover rest of bay with sheets
spray away!!!

although i should have prepped it better  :embarrassed:

plug with newspaper is very risky, its not much work to get the cam cover off and its so much easier once its removed.

prep is always key to a good job, spend time degreasing every little corner and the finish will be well worth your time.
