Title: My Golf R arrived!
Post by: KennyGTI on 19 September 2012, 21:44: Lee (evo1986) sent me some pics today of my new R. Still to be de-wrapped but I am so excited about getting her! :laugh:

P.S. I still have a rear gloss black diffuser for sale for £50 plus exchange for standard one. I will be heading to Cheltenham from Scotland on Monday and will be happy to meet on the road down to do a swap??

Yes, you can but reducers from Milltek etc or your local tyre exhaust fitter would do it no bother af all! :-)

That's me just home now guys! Was a better journey back up, didn't rain as much as yesterday! Car is absolutely bogging now tho!
Totally different drive to the GTI, certainly feels a lot heavier and more planted on the 19s also. Clutch feels a lot heavier too so taking sometime adjusting to it! Sound off the tfsi k04 is ammense at standard. Never really got the chance to use the 4 wd until the end of my journey when I came off the motor way onto the twisted roads, all I can say is I can't wait till its properly broken in and weather clears up! :laugh:

I still have a smile on my face! Always wanted an R - 4WD, the looks, bigger wheels, bigger brakes, faster! Ticks all the boxes for me. Just felt the GTI always lacked something in these compartments. Plus my GTI was totally stand from spec apart from the wheels. So its nice to get in the R with leather heated seats, RCD510, bluetooth and the blue needles! :laugh:

I know what you mean re washing the car - love giving mine some TLC but being black it needs it more often!

As the car is new have you thought about applying a sealant such as Gtechniq C1/Exo or Max Protect. :cool:

Will be 100% worth it before the swirls arrive
