Anyone done this or anyone else thinking about it?

Have been thinking about it myself after reading about it in a aftermarket trade mag a few.times.
-
Anyone know what system they use or how much?
Connects2 is £150 whereas Alpine is £199 I think.
-
Nice, I like it
-
I have emailed and its around £350 fitted with a 3 year guarantee :nerd:
-
Nice one Smoggy, I emailed them too but am still awaiting reply, so now I know, thanks.
-
Im waiting for an email back regarding fitting - as they are based down south but do a group fitting in other areas on arrangement.
-
I asked them for a quote on an RVC fitting too, if the trim has to come up for a DAB ariel for the rear screen then it could be doubled up with the wiring for the RVC.
I'd much rather get the parts and fit the lot myself but I can't see the DAB unit they use available anywhere else, all of the others seem to come with cheapo windscreen ariel.
-
Just been quoted £395 for the DAB unit fitted and the RVC comes in at a nice £795.
Once I'd picked myself up off the floor and uttered "Gosh" I decided that I have managed quite well for 26 years of driving without either of the above and may well manage another good few years too!
The Polish guys knock out the RVC for around £250 and I'm sure there must be a way of getting hold of the DAB unit which will work in conjunction with the steering wheel controls and on board display without an ugly screen ariel (I have one of those in my other car which is old and I'm not so worried about the aesthetics in that car). It'll give me a winter project if nothing else...

Hi,
I have a reply from sat-nav systems who will be in the north east soon and will fit dab for £395 inc 3 year warranty - this is for the RNS 510 sat-nav system
Thinking about it but it still a bit steep :undecided:
-
You've got to balance it up against how much you use the car vs how much the convenience of DAB costs. £395 to me is too much as i don't use the car that much. My ancient SEAT is my daily driver and has a Pure DAB radio in the car which suits my needs with that car. However if I was on the road a lot with the Golf I think I would have to reluctantly swallow the £395 just so I didn't have to listen to the footie on AM screaming away in bad reception areas and I would get the shakes if I was away from BBC 6Music for long periods of time...

ducked out of it....think it is a bit steep
