Title: Squeaky seat anyone?
Post by: Sugarcane on 18 September 2012, 13:27
Have now owned the gti for about 4 months and I seem to have a really squeaky leather seat. Has anyone else had this issue. The drivers seat springs squeak over every bump and the passenger seat squeaks fom the side bolsters.

Am I being overly fussy? Or should I expect a squeak free car?

Advice from others would be great before I hit the dealer.

Squeek free car? Not a chance!! not a GTI anyway!

However if you think it's excessive then take it in, if it's the leather itself then they might put some type of cleaner/conditioner on but if it's the seat then thats s bigger issue.

It sure is driving me nuts but I think I'll try some leather balm 1st as it seems to warm up into being less squeaky. Either that or my brain tunes it out!

Awesome car and really ease overall. It's away at the moment getting clayed and polished for a Scotland adventure. Had an Audi Avant diesel and it's almost on par mpg wise and south better than my fuel drinking Focus St.

Still, tempted to have it remapped but don't want the pressure of any voided warranties.

Mine turned out to be the O/S rear door seal.

I do not know what my dealer did but my best guess would be solve a frame-problem
