Title: what knob??
Post by: cooki on 18 September 2012, 12:47: well ive just won a set of net optics on the bay that have been sanded to brushed alloy R32 style ,so obviously im now getting rid of all my wooden trim&the gear knob.
my question beeing what knob should i get????
ive seen the black leather ones on the bay which look fine but my interior is cream??
what about some sort of shiny metal 1 to try march the brushed alloy bits??
or anything else that anybody has fitted im open to sugestions and possible pics if not too much trouble lol.

i'm putting the above together when i pull up the center console and get everything sprayed glossy black and then wrapped in silver carbon wrap so that all the pockets are black and all the other surfaces are silver, i'll have to put a picture up when its done as i can explain it too well

according to the supplier it will and comes with the 6 speed or 5 speed option however i'm gonna get a duplicate made up as i want to drill the through the middle and put in a LED so it lights up the numbers and guide lines when the lights are switched on

Post by: godsANGER on 20 September 2012, 09:44: i went the poverty way got a wooden 4motion on and sprayed it black lol i think looks ok, but could get a mk5 know and get that to fit be a little different. or make a custom one seen a fue people do that.

being married i'm guessin your knob will last a lifetime as its not used anymore :grin:

I don't wear a ring . . yet May 25th 2013 i will be ! so cant say but its had some hammer and seams all good, i have resprayed it once but since its been solid, first time didn't prep it well and used normal car paint, second time i used plasti kote enamel paint really hard wearing stuff use it a lot now on bit for the car.

plasticote it is then if i decide to spray it.
illuminated ones are nice ive seen them on the bay.
polo gti is one too look for then.
