Title: Engine Bay Clean

Looking at giving this engine bay a clean up, anyone got any methods for getting it to mint condition?

Post by: dubber36 on 17 September 2012, 10:51: If you mean mint as in like new / concourse, then it's all got to come out and every part meticulously cleaned, painted, powdercoated, polished, replaced as necessary. While it's all out, the bay will need a fresh coat of paint and the subframe stripped and powdercoated.

I'm building up for a full on restoration of my engine bay next year. With the time I reckon I'll need or be able to spend on it, I can't see my car needing a tax disc at all next year.

I know a good body shop and a know good garages but you really need a place that's an expert in both. Any ideas anybody?

My engine bay area started off much the same as yours, it is now starting to look very nice. As long as it isnt your main car you can take all the time in the world to strip it and make good :nerd:

Post by: vii-cks on 29 September 2012, 08:50: With a bit of patience I cleaned up my bay with just time and a few cable ties, rerouting wires, maybe worth getting some wire cover and tidying it up a bit.
