Title: mk3.5 Cabriolet help required?
Post by: billy_vw on 14 September 2012, 22:12
Picking up a 51 plate mk3.5 cabriolet 2moro, need some help.

1. The cruise control does not seem to work, any help where to start looking??????

2. The drivers window goes down smoothly, but when pressing up it goes up a bit then stops & goes down again, the only way to get window up, is tapping the up button in short spouts, very tempermental.
Will close on full closure using key in lock.
how can i fix this please?

Thanks in advance

the 1st q: get vag com on to it, this will show up any faults
the 2nd q: take door card of. drop window down abit till bolts line up. loosen them till the window can move side to side freely, close the window, open it fully (make sure it dont drop so hold it ever so gently without moving it, close it then repeat then tighten the bolts. try it a few times before putting it back together

The window problem is Pretty common
Sometimes it's the switch that causes the problem but try the easy option first
A way of testing it is holding the key in the lock to lock the car with the windows down (it will put them up) if they do it a few times without dropping it's prob the switch.
