Title: problem after changing clutch/flywheel
Post by: simon_709 on 14 September 2012, 20:50
I am soooo annoyed atm :( I just finished fitting my G60 flywheel and VR6 clutch because my old clutch was slipping badly, and the old flywheel had loads of play in it... So I went for a test drive and its still slipping, does anyone know why this might be? I can only think of one thing, and that is I left the slave cylinder for the clutch attached to the gearbox and I haven't bleed it because I didn't think I'd need to... Any ideas ppl? Thanku

is the clutch fully engaging? maybe the last clutch was slipping cos the cylinder isnt releasing fully.

id try a bleed first, costs nothing to crack a nipple

Was the crankshaft oil seal all ok, if it is weeping a little then oil will get onto the clutch.

Yeah it engages enough to drive, but as soon as I put my foot down a little but it then slips, yeah its fitted the right way lol I double checked, where would I look to check the crank seal mate??

Just to be sure, are u talking about the slave cylinder mate? I'm going to try and bleed it later and try another slave cylinder as I have a spare :)
