Title: VR6 Tensioner Melted - I think! Please Help!
Post by: MK4D4VE on 13 September 2012, 22:53
Hi all

Got a smell of burning and my battery light came on so thought my belt had snapped, got caught up and melted but seems what I think is the tensioner has melted, can anyone confirm what is is called and if I can just buy the pulley? Pic below, not very good though! It's a 1995 VR6.

Thanks in advance.

D.

New belt and tensioner... it runs your waterpump and vr's are high temp engines. Be safe and get new. I said about £96 for my last one.

Same thing happened to me once in the motorway... blue smoke bellowed in my rear view mirror I thought I'd blown engine
