Title: Hi there .. new one ...
Post by: bretttuk on 07 July 2005, 19:35
Good evening all , thought i would say hello before getting stuck into the site. Well, bit of history .. im coming from Seatcupra.net forum as i use to drive a number of ibizas ranging from 1.4 , 2.0 8v and then finally 2.0 16v which had a demise as i crashed her into the back of another vehicle. im also 24 , from the north west... live nr Bolton.

Well, the opportunity arose to purchase a beautiful vehicle...

a. J reg Golf Gti mk2 16v ..... in Oak Green , good mileage and in superb condition . Car has been worked on by Awesome gti .. it has had uprated brakes , koni suspension , full service history and some uprated engine items.

I had a drive and my god is such a good drive , felt so sure footed and sturdy and stable .... i should be collecting some time in the next week or two hopefully.

Quick question to kick off ... what items should i change , mod to ensure engine reliability is at peak .. i have seen some thermostats on awesome .. are these worthy to ensure longevity of engine.

look forward to hearing from all of you ..

Brett

Welcome to the site, sounds like a top motor you've aquired.

As for your question, not sure you need to change anything for engine reliability.  :undecided: Keep it serviced and change the oil often and you shouldn't have any problems.
