This seems like the perfect thread to ask the following question.
Rather than a Wmi kit. Is it possible to add pure methanol to your fuel tank. For example would it be safe to add 15-20% meth to a 55ltr tank of s.unleaded?
-
The water methanol is injected into the intake system to lower intake temperature so id say no
-
10% methanol is safe in your fuel tank, i used to do it in my impreza and suffered no problems.

Thank you for that dude. I've read that on quite a few 'Scooby' forums. As far as I understand, it just raises the octane rating of your fuel right?
A lot of Jap car enthusiasts put 10% meth in their tanks, but I've not heard of many VW's doing it.
Can anyone else shed any light on whether or not it would be suitable to run say 10% methanol per one tank of super unleaded, in a Gti?
