What do you reckon? Chavvy or subtle?
I quite like them.
-
I like the front one, but not sure about the rear. My Mk2 has an original black front one and chrome rear. That's the way they used to do it, so I guess makes it kind of right.
-
Love it!!!
I've been looking for those for ages. Want to share your source?
-
Nice
A 'subtle' looking contrast all ways looks good I reckon

Not bad that John...

Like the front, but think that the rear would look good the same colour as the paintwork.
-
Looks good mate, maybe get one of those inserts in body colour for around the rear one?
And i'm liking this a lot!!!!

I looked at that and thought it would look good on a GTI.
-
i got the black front with the red inners from euro (as above )
-
Look cool, i'm tempted to change mine.
I think they'd look good on rising blue.
-
Looking good john
-

-

Any chance of a cheeky pic?

Yes, dental floss to separate the back from the base and then lever off the chrome badge with a plastic spatula or trim removal tool. Takes 2 mins.
-
Love the front mate, not sure about the rear but having said that I bet it ties into the gloss diffuser nicely?
-
Really love the front badge in black = looks ace against the grille.
Is the front badge easy to remove?
-
like that Hurdy just need to gloss out the Rs for the stealth look, toying with this on mine but cant make me mind up
-

You can always try it and if you don't like it sell them on.

probably worth a punt but need to sort out some other tweaks and maybe scratch an itch for a new daily :)

Does the grill need to come off to change the front one? i''ve been reading that it can be twisted off while the grill is still on. ???

You can risk it, but most people tend to break the holding clips. Much safer to remove the grille first.

Regarding an R (and maybe other models) it also depends how new the car is. My 2012 R had the taps melted flat so once you have the grill off you have to get some snipe nosed pliers and break up the melted area. The VW badge can then be taken out of the grill but it's knackered and can't be reused. There is a guide here: http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread.php?3085-DIY-Replace-the-Front-VW-emblem-of-Mk-6-Golf-R

Yes, I think if that is the case you can Dremel the excess off and use hot glue to fix the replacement in. If you want to refit the original you can uses hot melt again.
