Title: My cv joint snapped!

Don't you just love driving cars! Pulled out on to a main road and heard clunk! Looks like my cv joint has gone.
My gear stick went really limp though (no puns please haha) maybe its nocked a gear linkage?

wouldnt expect it to interfere with your linkage as thats on top of the gearbox well away from cv joints. Which one has gone, outer or inner?

It wont have touched your gear linkage...when you say cv joint, did the shaft snap or the actual joint go wrong? Would like to see a pic :smiley:

you would think it hasnt touched it but sounded like something flew off anyway, i was left with a bearing and aload of grey oil on the floor.

here is a really bad pic, you can see how the drive shaft isnt connected to the gear box:

Hahaha is this now an excuse to drop my 1.8T engine in??  :laugh:
