cts Coolant Temp Sensor
Hmmm still throwing same fault definatley the correct CTS?
cleared the faults after install?
if so possible wiring fault?
-
yeah am starting to think it could be a faulty connector, noticed sometimes the temp needle dont seem to move after my drive to work (about 5 mile),
starting to annoy me now lol,
is there more than one semsor?
and where are they located please,
-
Daft but thermostat?
-
good point thermostats are known on 1.8t ill take a pic of cts mate just the one im sure
-
thanks, had a look at the new cts yesterday, seens the plug was not snapped into place propperly,
wd and snaped the tab down with a small scred driver, will have to wait a couple of days to see if my light comes back on,
but yeat could change the thermostat i suppose, never thought about that,
car is a standard 2.0 8 gti,
looking for a 1.8t if i can get one, the 2.0 8v gti dont feel like it should be a gti !!
will update in a couple of days or when and if light comes back on,
also i have a crash data removal tool and airbad fault code remover if anyone close to me needs to use one.
-
where are you bud i could just do with that atm lol
-
hi optispart am in teeside north east area, where you?
pete.
-
north west manchestet mate
-
,
-
ok the light is back on after about 3-4 days now gona do another scan to see if its the same problem,
also noticed my exhaust is blowing from the back of the centre box and from around the cat,
could this be giving me the lamba warnings?
-
What codes it popped up now?
-
will scan today and post the ruselts,
-
I had this code last month and I replaced both lambdas with VAG parts and it hasn't been back since
-
so its light on time again!!! came on a few weeks ago but just tryd to put up with it (not happaning for me)
have noticed temp nedle seems to take forever to move even when the cab heater is warm,
could the new cts be faulty bringing the management light on?
here is vag com scan.

you need to check the measuring blocks to see if the gauge agrees with what the ecu is seeing.. but seeing as you've already replaced the temp sender and its seeing an implausible signal it is likely that your thermostat is stuck considering what you've said about the temp gauge. that may be causing it to overfuel enough to cause the other faults but it could be dead 2nd lambda sensor or cat.. or both!
