Title: polo 6n top cups. Or anyone with shorter front mounts? *PICS ADDED*
Post by: km on 11 September 2012, 12:15
fitted my psi tuning poly top mounts, ordered polo top cups with it.

it seems that the polo top cups' diameter is a lot smaller than the original ones.

is anyone else running these? are there any solutions to it? the rubber has come off the cup as i've tried to tighten it too much..

There's a gap between the top cup and where it sits though? It rattles if it's too loose and I can't over tighten it as it'll get pulled through?! Are there no other shallow caps out there that have a larger circumference?

Tell me more wazzzer!

I'm currently using standard caps, they're as high as a skyscraper.

Reckon I could source some supersport caps?

seen the pictures, does look the same to me, only reason why you can see the gap in my pictures is because the rubber has been removed and therefore doesn't hide it!  :undecided:

Really strange, Agree with the thread psi tuning shouldve really done their homework before selling to the public. Id rather stick with OEM or buy polo top mounts as they are shorter anyways.

it's not psi tuning's fault, their mounts are fine, they're short aswell :afro:. it's just the polo cups! not sure how people are managing it though!

Yeah the mounts are fine but the standard mk4 cups looks sh!te when fitted, An people using the polo cups lasts a few weeks/months and they look wrecked because the rubber rips apart and exposes the metal.

I think its down to psi tuning to ensure the kit works well and lasts, even if they have to make a custom cup to make it work.

I was up for this but waited until people tried them but I think I will stay away and keep to OEM for now.

I was thinking about some of these but you've put me off for sure now!

I see they've just listed them on eBay too, no mention of the cups sitting high of using polo ones which I think is a little messed up due to the concerns raise on a number of forums to which they are aware of but seem to no longer comment in the threads which is annoying and not a good example of their customer service (which I've had problems with on the past)

Shame as the product could be a real winner should they be bothered to address or acknowledge people's concerns......
