Title: steering rack

I have just bought myself a golf vr6 and it has a few problems, but the 1 I'm most concerned about is the steering when in full lock it screeches and there's play in the steering wheel.any help would appreciated asvthis is my first dub I'm not really clued up on them

Screeching will be the belt slipping, so either replace or tighten, the pulleys sometimes need roughing up a bit too.
Check the rod ends for the play first, they are cheaper than a rack!
