Ok so I picked my new at up yesterday and just throwing out a few feelers. This is my first car with a turbo so go easy. So my first concern is a noise when accelerating. I know it's not the dump valve I'm not that much of a novice :/ it's as if there is a hissing sound while accelerating. This stops when I lift my foot. Is this the normal sound of a turbo? My mechanic friend says its the actuator? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

sould be the spooling of the turbo, but could also be a boost leak!!
oh and welcome to the world of spending all your monies!!!

So a turbo pipe?

The exhaust is blowing so could that also be the problem?

if you think it is leaking then a smoke test is the easiest way to find it
