Title: Oil change at National Tyres? Worth it?
Post by: billabong on 09 September 2012, 23:26
Hi Guys,
I'm in need of an oil change. Normally I would do it myself using Castrol Edge 5w30.
The cheapest I can find the oil is £27 for 4L at ECP (I would need 2 as the capacity is about 5L?)

National Tyres (http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx) will do a full oil&filter change using Castrol Edge 5w30 for 38.70 (-10% http://www.national.co.uk/special-offers-oil.aspx) = £34.83

This is about the cost of 4L + filter at cost price and means I dont even need to get dirty!
Does this sound a good deal??

Ta
Will

Do it yourself, I will never EVER use National for anything again, they are botch with everything they do (well my local one anyway) I got 4 brand new tyres from them a few years back Yokohoma was wasnt cheap, 3 days later 1 of them cracked on the sidewall and they said I did it so they wont do anything for me even thou there was no damage to the paint on my wheel at all  :undecided:

Also they did the tracking on my cuz golf and it was worse than when it went in, he had to take it to another garage and they said and I quote WTF have you done to your tracking?!

My mate took his focus there, for tracking and they told him both his track rod ends where shot and they boh need replacing, I urged him to get a second opintion which he thanked me for after because the next garage he went to told him national where just trying for more work.

I would trust them to not put a filter on or even use castrol tbh mate.

Again, I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, took our ST in for some new Tyres that we got from Tyreshopper and then delivered to them, I went to change the disks and pads a day later and they had rounded the locking nut.
After a few phone calls and them trying to fob me off I got new locking nuts out of them but they were only cheapo ones, so they are getting another call VERY soon!
