alright guys
Ive just done the clutch on my 2.0 8v , everything went back spot on but when i turned the car over the starter motor is screaming its nuts off. and it appears that its catching on the teeth of the fly wheel.. anyone had this before?

Sounds like your flywheel is in the wrong position.
Did you move the starter motor?
I think it's not as spot on as you think

yeah if you pack the starter of the flywheel housing abit. it stops, everything is in the right place and aligned correctly. the clutch assembly and fly wheel can only go on one way. the only thing i can think is that the pressure plate is slightly thicker so there for the fly wheel sits further forward in the housing. causing it to catch the starter.

thats the same that happened to me. ECP gave me a the wrong clutch & it turned out to be for a mk4 2l gti it (bunch of c*nts), did you check to see if the clutch matched your old 1???
My starter f*cked up and i went back to them
