Title: oil leak!
Post by: search on 09 September 2012, 14:58
sorry for not searching I'm on mobile and away for weekend, but iv realised where iv been parking over night there seems to be an oil patch on the ground! iv not had chance to check the dip stick yet. but was wondering what's the worse case scenario. I remember seeing leak repairs solutions are these worth buying or a waste of money. cheers guys

should I take it in to a garage to get it seen to?

No, just trace the leak back to the source. Or give everything a clean the run the engine

+1 unless you can find a garage to do a free inspection with no obligation?

ok gave it all a clean etc! 99.9% sure the leak is from the drain plug on the sump! do i get a new washer then do a engine flush new oil and new washer? or do i change the pan still and new drain plug with washer? thanks

If the pan is still in good condition there's no need to replace it.
If you're about due for an oil change, just drain the oil, clean the plug and put a new washer on it, put it back in and fillup with oil again.
