Title: Has anybody done a lhd-rhd/rhd-lhd conversion? Help needed.
Post by: dan7 on 09 September 2012, 14:03
Hey guys. I'm looking into doing a lhd conversion on my mk1 caddy works promotion truck, to tie in with the US theme.
Has anybody converted either way? I need to know what parts are different, etc. I know the rack is the obvious one! Can the column and pedal box be utilised still? What brake servo could I use? Any help much appreciated.
Here's my truck btw: (http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj161/volkswagengolf/BB59B7A1-BFBF-4D6A-A923-4BB722CB3EA7-1811-000000B583EEEFE0.jpg)

i would 'think' that the brake servo would be the same as it was on the LHD versions anyway... but don't quote me on that  :undecided:

Brake servo may be different, pedal box should be the same, if you look at the bulkhead all the pressings should be in place all you will need to do is drill out as required.

cant go bloody anywhere without that bloody caddy being there......lol
the servo mounts as normal but you have to drill hole in bulkhead behind it for linkage from pedal box.the rest is straight fit by the looks of it as car meant to be lhd anyway.
