is it a big job changing the oil pump on my mk4 gti AGU engine ? i no i have to remove the sump but i dont know how get the old pump off can somebody give me any advice :)
-
once sump off oil pump is holded by 3 10mm bolts. the chain has a tensioner you can pull this back with your finger and remove the chain. just a heads up when taking sump of there are 2 tricky bolts by flywheel you will need 6mm hex ball key to get to them. i think its 6mm
this is what i used

Please make sure you locktight the bolt for the oil pump gear.
Had one in the garage last week which had spun the bolt out on the motorway, the job had been done previously by soneone else about 3 months before.
That was new crank time as it wrecked the gear on the crank.
Just a heads up :)

lock tight the gear? what is this lol please can you give me more info please

The oil pump has a gear on it which is driven by a chain from the crank. The gear is bolted to the oil pump with one bolt, and that's the one you need to locktight up :)
