Title: Cold callers!
Post by: Luke1981 on 08 September 2012, 12:40
Over the past month I have had half a dozen calls on my mobile from PPI companies saying I am owed thousands!

I usually end the call after a load of effing and jeffing to the Muppet on the other end of the phone!
Apart from my mortgage I have never had a loan! Seriously getting fcuked off with this now.

Rant over. Anyone else getting these calls?

Yes, loads.

Sign up with tps (telephone preference service)

If you continue to get calls, just say you are with them and the cold caller will hang up very quickly. :smug:

I put the phone down & walk away while they're still talking. If they still don't get the hint, they get told to f*ck off :)

Phil M'Cavity is always a good one!

Why do they insist on telling you about accidents you don't remember having too?!

Friend of mine gave the phone to his 2 year old daughter who kept the conversation going for about 10 minutes

Another person got so fed up of receiving calls from a double glazing company that he arranged for them to come to the house.  The salesguy was very miffed when he turned up to see brand new windows already installed.  The bloke told the salesguy that he was getting him back for wasting his time for all the phonecalls

Me; i just hang up

Exactly what I do. I start asking random questions, ie; where do they live? what colour shoes are they wearing? how many items that are green in colour can they see from the exact position they're currently in, do they know what time motd is on?, have they ever eaten curried goat? Are they getting as pissed off as me yet?

Rarely does it take more than three questions for them to hang up.....

It costs them to call you so keep them going as long as you can :)
As for ppi calls/texts I just go along with it, if they think they owe me £3k I'll happily take it off them, never had a cc or loan but apparently they owe me £3k
Or the accidents they were that bad I forgot them but I'll happily take £3k :)

Nob jockeys the lot of em

In fact while we're have a good rant, who else is fed up of these bloody clothing appeal bags that get thrown through your door every day? Had a read and out of the 6 that came this week 1 of them was an actual charity the rest were companys that make there money off our worn out clothes :@ :@ :@

Rant over :(

those clothing appeal things really piss me off.

actualy run by private companies that give said charity a commision for useing there name.   its not like the clothes are even used as clothing somewhere.  they just rip them up into rags  they then compress and pack them into bags that they then sell iirc  £15 for 10 KG

putting adverts in paper is worst thing you can do if cold callers piss you off.  you'll get more people ringing up trying to sell you adveriseing  than anything else  usally  some sort of scam as well by a company named after a soft fruit

I also get the clothes bags but I just bin them! I have a clear out once a year and drop my clothes off at the local charity shop.
