Title: clutch cable bulkhead repair(measurement needed plz)
Post by: razla on 04 September 2012, 17:50
Well, the repair on the bulkhead that the last owner of my car done, has finally failed. He'd used a 50x50mm angle with a hole in for the cable, it was sloppy, the hole was the wrong size, the cable was rubbing on the angle, a right mess. The angle was 150mm long and the whole thing has pulled through the bulkhead :undecided: , I've already fab'd a new plate at work,in-fact, I made two. I plan sandwhich whats left of the bulkhaed after removing the crap.

The only problem I have really is the where the hole centre should be for the cable to go through. Would someone be kind enough to get a measurement for me if they get i minute? the only measurement I need is from the underside of the bulkhead to the hole centre of the cable. I would really appreciate it, please help a fellow mk1'er.

Cheers, Andy.

Managed to fix the clutch today  I didn't realise how bad it was until I drove her tonight. Fitted a new cable at the same time as the old one had been frayed a bit, silky smooth now. It's a different car all toghether.
