Title: Indicator problem....
Post by: Granta Gti on 03 September 2012, 09:24
Got a strange one here, car has done it a couple of times last week and then was fine for a whole and has started again. Basically sometimes when I indicate to turn right, once I have lifted the indicator stalk the relay clicks really fast like one of the bulbs are out. On the dash the indicator light does not flash and checking the the bulbs they do not illuminate too. Sometimes if i leave it it will go back to normal and sometimes I have to put the stalk back to the centre and and indicate again then its fine. My guess is the indicator switch/stalk is on the way out?

Anyone seen or heard of this before?

Maybe, could also be the relay playing up. Both are common faults though

Oh is it? I think it's more like the switch. Can vagcom test them in any
Way?

I don't think VAG COM will pick them up. It would be easier to try the relay first though, the stalk is a good 45 min job to get off and back on again as you have to take the steering wheel etc off
