Title: central locking problems
Post by: 8vgti on 06 July 2005, 13:12
the central locking on my 5 door is giving me grief...the drivers door lock now either unlocks ok, but the door wont open, so i lock and unlock and it is fine, or when i unlock the door the pins go up but then go down straight away. It locks fine from the drivers door and opens as normal from the passenger door. Must admit the drivers door has never been quite right cos you usually have to physically turn the key to unlock as opposed to just turning slightly. Any ideas....pump, switch....???

I wouldnt have thought it would be a pump problem if all the other doors are working correctly, could be a blockage faulty switch take the door apart and see what the mechanism is doing and work backwards from there.

I had a similar problem on my Vr6 and i found it was the central locking actuator on the drivers door.
I bought one of ebay for 12 quid and fitted it my self and alls been fine since :)
Hope this helps
Good luck
