My gt Tdi 150 pd keeps cutting out periodically. I know the fuel pump is not connected to to the diagnostics. Am I correct in thinking it could either be a faulty fuel pump or relay?
Cheers

Literally no idea :lipsrsealed: :undecided:
How is it cutting out? While driving? No fuel or just randomly shutting down totally?
-
It just randomly cuts out when driving! Only happens once on each journey.

Could be a few things, main ecu fees relay or water in the ecu, although that's more a mk5 problem than mk4, I've check the ecu relay first and go from there, do you have VCDS? If you do when the engine cuts out before you do anything or even touch the key try to code read the engine ecu, if it's a relay fault it won't connect to it as it doesnt have power
Hope that helps

Thanks for the help. What is the number of the relay? Cheers

without looking im not 100% think its 109 or 18, depends on the level of your car it will be in relay slot 4 or 8

109 rings a bell. Thanks again.

Could be a faulty injector loom
-
I had the diagnostics checked and there was no faults. I got the ecu relay replaced and the car ran fine.
When I started it today it cut out whilst driving. The weather has been raining and the last time it cut out a few weeks back it was raining also. Don't know if this is a coincidence.
Any further ideas what might be causing this? It only happens very periodically.
Thanks

Cheers Rhyso, completely missed your post! Is there any way of knowing its the injector loom that is faulty or is it just a case of process by elimination?

Its normally accompanied by stuttering :undecided: not sure if you can do a voltage check across the loom :undecided:
Think they are about £50 from the dealers
