Title: My New Used Car
Post by: phil1975 on 01 September 2012, 21:06

Well traded in the mk5 today for this red 3 door 11plate with 6500 miles on the clock, short on spec except for sat nav and 18's, manual car with cloth interior. First impressions over the mk5 are a smoother ride and nicer interior mk6 steering wheel is lovely, loving the sd card feature on the sat nav no more cd's for me! Power seems more or less the same, nice noise from the exhausts about 4500rpm.

Wanted a white car intially but found it hard to find one, had enough of black with the last one so wanted a change. I think the rear led's make the rear end, something which never quite looked right on the mk5.

Only criticisms are that the rear vw badge/handle is down on quality to my mk5 and there's no netting underneath the parcel shelf, but if thats all I've found what am I moaning about!!

Gone but not forgotten.

Very nice mate, next mod should be taking the dealer sticker out the back window to tidy up the rear.

Welcome btw. :afro:

We are a impatient lot us MK6ers...

That looks very tidy indeed I bet you haven't stopped smiling, now all you need to do is talk to Waxamomo(Chris) to get some goodies to keep her looking her best...

Make sure you get some protection on that paintwork and of course those 18s

The netting comes as part of the Storage Pack - you can add it if you want!

Nice car BTW...good colour choice.

You missed an option the Winter pack, headlight washers, heated seats, heated washer jets, low fluid warning and a larger screen wash bottle.

Welcome along. You cant beat a shiney red car.

I think the new keys are an improvement. The badges on the old ones get sratched in your pocket, whereas the new ones are recesed.

One week on, everything's still going great! spent yesterday doing a mini detail, wash, small amount of tar removal, clay, wash, coat of autoglym srp, coat of autoglym extra gloss and one coat of chemical guys butter wet look wax.

Pretty pleased with the end result

Rear end tided up no end by removal of dealer sticker (thanks jimble)

I use Dodo's LP and SNH on the CW paint, brings out a very nice wet look finish

Real easy wax to use, minimal amount needed, can be applied in direct sunlight or shade (easier in the sun as it dries quicker), easy to buff off when it dries to a haze.

I certainly recommend it, reasonable price aswell.
