I have noticed that the earth wire coming from the Coil pack to the engine is damaged, and i think its the problem why my coil pack keeps on burning out.
So i intend to replace it, I am wondering which sort of wire to use as an earth?
Also i will clean the other earth's on the car, But i am stuck with removing the battery tray as the nuts have worn out and rusted, so i can get to the main earth wires which are under the battery tray.
Any Suggestions?, Cheers

Try spraying some Plus-gas on the bolts then remove them with some Irwin bolt extractors. Failing that reach for the angle grinder or cold chisel.

Thanks for that "thai-wronghorse", Thats sorted now on how to undo the bolts.
Any suggestions on which sort of wire to use as an earth, and how thick it should be,
I've got coil pack "New One", got service bits, going to clean throttle body and clean all breather pipes.

Most Motorfactors will have suitable cable. Try your local one.

Can this work from the coil to the engine on a golf gti mk3 8v?
