Title: gti wheel arch and sill cover fitment help
Post by: stainesy on 28 August 2012, 20:13
ok i will be rolling the arches on my 1985 jetta this weekend to make room for the 8j et20 wheels.
just incase something goes wrong due to unseen filler in the arches or even if the poke is to much and i need gti arches i am looking into what i would need to fit arches to my jetta.
its a small bumper 5 door CL
would i need 5 door arches and sill covers or are the 3 door and the 5 door the same size?

all arches are the same - 3 or 5 door...

Just small bumper or big bumper are the main differences...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251074433568?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1903wt_1037

looking at the bit that sits on the sill cover i thought it had to atach to it otherwide there would be a gap?
sweet so dont need sill covers then

Don't roll 'em then and buy some "Sensible" wheels!! Save you a fortune and also our not weakening the cars structure...

Coz that's not why I bought the car. I'm not In to sensible cars. Otherwise I wouldnt be putting 8j wheels on it and wouldnt have bought a car slammed on coilovers in the first place.
Rolling ruin the structure of the car? I'm rolling them not cutting them. If I was worried about car structures that badly I wouldn't be driving round in a 1985 jetta.
