Title: 1.8t ecu's talk to me
Post by: jamie1989 on 28 August 2012, 16:15
So simple question but dont know the answer

I have a 1.8t AGU, lets say I get another ECU map it and put it in my car.
Its already de-immoblised so will it work?
Do I need to get it coded in to my car?

Im confused as to what you have to do.
I have VDCS lite but I doubt its capable of coding in a new ECU if its needed.

I want two different ecu's basically.
Mine is running with immo defeat however if I buy another it would need the same.
Im buying a new engine and rebuilding it in a different car in the near future so having a two handy ecus with R-techs custom mapping(same spec) would be awsome.

Mine still needs taking upto R-tech to finish off the custom remap with bigger injectors and vr6 maf but having a spare ecu with same spec in a tin box im going to build will be mental!!

Both the 018R and the 018CG are interchangable.  Sure even the maps inside can be swapped just the MPG readout shows wrong from what ive seen.

Easy to code in, just tell clocks to learn the 'new' ecu with vagcom.

Im gunna take out my ecu and find the part number when this rain pisses off.
Will it show me my ecu part number if I plug it in with VDCS lite?

Let me think on it and see if I can get your ecu unlocked.
I can get an AGU engine cheap too  god I wish I had a better job lol
