I love them as i'm a bit of an OEM fan, i might try and find a good set when the tyres die on my longbeach's.

ok so the question is...

on my current car:

find a set of le mans which are 15s i think (correct me if im wrong) and slam it 60mm

or a set of 16" azev as and drop it prob 40mm. like the car below:

I also like to use original vw parts but i am partial to a nice deep Azev A!!

I don't mind them either but would look a bit naff on the wrong car like my Blue cc for instance.

Would need more than a 60mm drop to look good aswell I recon.

I'd try and find a solution using the setup you have as it all starts getting a bit complicated otherwise.

Some 16" azevs would do the trick

i wouldnt bother spending cash on adaptors or converting to 5 stud just for a set of le mans.
could use that money to buy some better wheels

+1 to this. There's a lot more choice of wheels at 4 stud

phone up cades wheels and tell them neil with the red 1985 lowered jetta recamended them to you.
could get a very nice set of brand new rims for about £350
if you was willing to drive to them they would try diferant rims on your car to see what looks best.

Why not get yours lowered, give the wheels a good clean and maybe try some spacers, you might be suprised how much better it looks for less outlay.

Yh I think gavv's and dom069's mk3s are very good examples of very nice mk3s with stock wheels!

mine still has the std le mans alloys and there as new, not a mark on any of them which is why Im still not sure about changing them! http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=239559.0  I did have a pic some where of them without the big center cap and thought they looked quite good
