Title: Las Vegas
Post by: Jimble on 27 August 2012, 16:22
Following on from Mr Bounce's thread on Orlando, the wife and i are off to Vegas in October for our first anniversary so i was looking for recommendations on things to see, places to eat etc? I've done a quick search but most of the replies involve the cast from "The Hangover"

We're no party animals but we like to have fun!

Cheers

Good outlet shopping to stock on clothes / trainers etc. The fountains at the Belagio (sp?). The roller coaster on top of the building. The lions at the MGM. Cirque du soleil wherever they're playing = amazing.

Er, 1 cent slots to keep the fun, but not lose all your money. Not a gambler myself, but they were pretty fun.

Which hotel are you staying at? Are you on the strip?

Sounds awesome mate, my best mate has just come back from his honeymoon driving across the states and they did a couple of nights there. I'll have a chat with him and let you know. I think the lions have gone from the MGM, one of them is running around Essex!

Defo the fountains at the bellagio viewed from the top of the eiffel tower (across the road)

You MUST do the gun store...... its so much fun.

Quad biking through the desert for a day was also brilliant

If you've got the balls try the rides on top of the stratosphere (1040 ft)

Dont forget to hit the luxor all day buffet ( boooosh!!)

Remember the casinos are built like maze's, no clocks, windows or exit signs.  you can easily find yourself spending many hours in there....as me and my brother did in planet holywood (9 hours at one table)

All in all though bud just enjoy it as you see it, dont try and cram everything in as there is so much and you can always come back again...as are the wife and I next year.

Thanks for the replies so far, Keep em coming!

We were thinking about renting a car for a day or so to get off the strip and see a little bit of scenery, has anyone hired one from somewhere other than the airport?

A little bump and another question!

We've booked a convertable for a day with Avis as it's located in the MGM Grand where we're staying so is as convenient as can be! £108 including all insurances so not too bad really and we'll never do it again so why not!?

Has anyone done a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon? If so, what did you do and who with?

Thanks again for the replies.
