Hi people, this is my first post so take it easy !!!
I have recently upgraded my stereo from a RCD310 to a RCD510 and everything works great except when I plug my iPhone 3GS into the mdi port the headunit does not recognise it when selecting media. If I plug my iPad in it will recognise that and play it as it should do. My iPhone worked when I had the RCD 310 so I don't see why it isn't working now. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. My car is a 2009 mk6 gt tdi.

Your interface might need new firmware. See here (http://www.my-gti.com/3148/volkswagen-media-device-interface-mdi-firmware-upgrades) for the latest firmware.

Hi, I tried the firmware update but it would not accept it. It turns out that the iPod lead I had for it was not compatible with the new stereo for some reason as I tried a mates genuine VW lead and it works so I've ordered a new one. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
