Title: Renewing front strut top mount "in-situ"
Post by: dieselgeezer on 26 August 2012, 18:47
Is it possible to replace the top bearing without removing the strut? Just don't want to have the faff of having the camber rechecked. Just wondering if it's possible to get the spring compressors in under the arch & compressing the spring enough to gain the space to remove the top mount.
Many thanks.

Not really. The way you could do it is just remove the strut with the whole hub.

Maybe if your running coilovers as they are shorter otherwise the strut has to come out.

Just mark it up before you remove so your camber can be retained.
