Right my mate has got a pd 150 and he has put an audi tt petrol turbo on it, now when I was studying I always got told you should not do that as petrols run to much higher psi than diesels ,
Is that right
-
i always thought a diesel runs more compression than a petrol
-
Yeah engine wise they do but I always thought you shouldn't put a petty turbo on a diesel. I know diesel engines run a lot higher engine compression
-
dont quote me on this but im sure the actuator on a diesel turbo is setup different to that on a petrol turbo how i dont know as cant remember exactly but remember reading summat about it on here
-
How does that work?? The diesel has variable vane turbos......... :undecided:
-
does it run?
-
Very interesting.
-
diesels boost way higher than petrols, particularly in standard form. I really can't see how your mate has managed to achieve this.. it just wouldn't work for so many reasons. Unless he's used a turbo from a new shape diesel TT? but even that wouldn't be straight forward!
-
Diesels are on boost much more under general driving conditions

Diesel one works on a vacuum...I assume the petrol one is the other way around. does it run?

Very interesting.

Why did he do that anyway?
-
I have no idea how he has done if he has no one has seen it :/
I'll have a look and keep people informed
He said it's bigger and more power
-
I smell bull shit

  +1

the amount of work to make it run right and geting it all to fit would be epic think your mates fibbing
-
I'll do some looking at it, and take pics for people, I did not think it could be done

Any pics/news/updates... :lipsrsealed:

2 things here that gets me, first off is the 150 turbo is part of the manifold and the TT one isnt, so to fit a TT turbo would need a new manifold made, so in my fag packet maths he would have saved money to have a 150 turbo hybrid, tbh i dont belive he has fitted a TT, just trying to play billy big bolloxs, smile and wave boy, smile and wave

yeah thats what im thinking im to busy fixing my beast to see his lol got near side drive shaft and top mounts now lol
