Title: pain in the ass 8v. start issue oil light flashes

lets begin bought the car started first time everytime never a problem in the morn, then driving along every now and then it would hesitate. i first thought ahh probably some sh!t in the carb gave it a good ol bklast with cleaner seemed to run alright for a while then it came back. about a week after that it took 6 turns on the key to start and the oil light kept flashing, i read up and saw its common as muck to have this happen so went to vw got a new relay and it still doesnt wana start AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP

Have a look in the maintenance section, there is a list of common faults to work through. You have a carb? What model is it?

throttle body oops iv taken the advice from maintenance and it didn't work il have another look though just incase. mk3 gti 8v

just spoke to a mate he says it more than likely a split vacuum hose, time to trawl through hoses
