Hello I have recently got a 16v GTI and have done all the norm like service etc. Is it worth having an
Diagnostic check from TSR. They have quoted me £25 today. What are your thoughts??
Thank u

If its all running ok then i wouldnt bother, spend the money on a code reader instead and do it yourself.
-
Yeah it is running fine, I am just paranoid want to make sure everything is running good.
-
Stop being paranoid and just drive it,drive it hard  lol
-
Any other opinions?
-
If its running fine dont waste your money
-
It seems to be, what are the classic signs if it is not?
-
Some form of warning light on dash. Lack of power. Excess exhaust smoke. Abs problems.
That kinda stuff
-
Stop fretting and get out there and drive it while you still can..
-
The only light which does not go off is my handbreak light??
-
Could be afew things. Check your brake fluid level thats first thing. Could have a leak somwere. Could be handbrake switch could even be wiring for brake fluid sensor.
Most likely fluid related, dont think theres diagnostic codes for that thou
-
The only thing out of that which i hav not done is check the wiring. Break fluid and switch are fine. Is it not a common fault for the mk3?
-
Hand brake light can be a sign for a duff abs ecu, does your abs light on the right come on ,selfcheck then go off all ok?
-
Yeah mate abs light is fine
-
Could be a dodgey fluid cap then ,is the light just on all the time except while ignition is off of course
-
Yeah it is
-
try unplugging the cap
-
Unpugging the break fluid cap hey?
-
Jst done it its not that.

If you have a laptop you can buy a diagnostic kit to work with it. Makes life a lot simpler
