Is there a bonnet lifting kit u can get for the golfs.
I did a group buy a few years ago on a starlet gt turbo forum and some guy was making these lifters that bolted to you hinges to lift the back of the bonnet so when the wind/air passed through the grille it pushed the hot air out the back of the bonnet.
Seems a good idea in theory.
Any body ever had any fitted to a golf???
Or any body got an opinion on them??

my opinion on them is that they look like you've had a front end collision

Well true mate yes to the untrained eye maybe but to any petrol head they would no what they are so that's all that matters lol.

Yes vents are a good idea but a hell of a lot more money and hassle than a £20 DIY bolt on kit but I'll defo keep that idea in mind fella

i spent the winter with my cousin in Collorado a year back and hes has a anni but swapped his bonnet for a custome made vented one but he placed the vents up towards to the windscreen and designed some fins to direct the hot air onto his windscreen, reason being is that when is snowed heavily the Kamei grill at the front forced the heat of the engine onto the windscreen, kept it nice and toasty so when it was hit with snow he didnt get a build up of snow on the wipers and it just water being wiped away as apposed to bigger and bigger piles of snow, seemed to work and didnt look like there were any vents until you got right up close. cost him about $200 but for a discreet and useful mod i'd pay for it lol
