You can either replace the non-vented fronts for 239mm front vented, or replace the hubs for 16V hubs and 256mm brakes, as well as replacing the master cylinder for a 22mm one.

The second option is much better.

Either way, replace the brake fluid first and see if that improves things.  Don't be tempted by grooved and drilled discs.  That is a fool's errand.

What would I need to do the first option? Discs and calipers? From what?

do i have to use a 22mm master cylinder for this? what car is the 22mm master cylinder from? may be easyer to search by car.

Ok sweet do it's mk2 16v discs. Calipers. And master cylinder is all I need?

No, some ass-clown is selling those.

You need the master cylinder, calipers, caliper carriers, hubs and flexi hoses, as well as pads and discs.

Or go find a 280mm set up on a SEAT - there's a fair few out there which use 280mm - anything four-stud and you'll be away.

I'd buy the master cylinder new from GSF, or ECP.

Add that lot and you'll stand the thing on its nose when you stamp on the middle pedal.

ok been driving it around alot today and it is great fun and im getting looks and the thumbs up from loads of people and nearly every vw driver i pass has a huge look as they drive past lol.
car runs like a dream. does seem to use quite abit of fuel tho for a 1.6 carb. uses the same as my 2.0 mk3 gti did.  :undecided:

I saw an orange one of these just the other day, I really like them they look nice lowered as well. if it wasn't for affording funding my mk2 vr6 I'd look at getting one. Will hold its value as well. Nice purchase.

NO YOU NEED THE HUBS for this conversion...

These won't fit your car, Without the hubs they are useless....

As DH said try doing the Fluid with a full bleed off 1st...

Did this with my Lads Driver with 239mm fronts and drum rears and what a difference it made..

new pads and a bleed was well worth doing to mine. made a noticable difference.
mines running a webber and my fuel bill is very expensive. think its just the nature of the beast.

enjoy it! looks
