Dealers just called and they can't fit side skirts to the cab due to the structure, I challenged this as the GTi has them but according to the dealer the gti cab has a different floor pan? So the dealer has given me the option of £250 worth of dealer fit bits, so what should I push for instead?
He's happy for it to be spent on mine or bevs so I was thinking dealer fit reversing camera as I'm waiting on delivery of a RCD510 for the Edi35. Her car has the chrome exhausts, side sill protectors and everything else.
Bev wants to take a look at what is available so thought you guys might have some ideas?
Cheers
Neil

That's kinda my point, I'm looking for guidance too.

scuse the ignorance - bit lost, what car are you trying to fit side skirts to. Can't imagine any mk6 would have a different floor pan to any other. Would VW not plan ahead to cover all options? Different floor pans would be an expensive process to change on the assembly process.

I'd be asking the dealer to check ETKA with the GTI Cabrio part numbers to see what the issue is

Already have, they reckon the gti cab is different to the gt? He reckons they would have to drill a number of holes and the bodyshop guy doesn't really want to do it?

Sounds fair enough tbh, i definately wouldn't want to be drilling holes in some ladies nice new car!

Surely they can be glued on..... they're only a piece of plastic!

The Cab will have a different floor pan as it needs to be strengthened to make up for not having an integral roof. This is why Cab's usually weigh more as well.

Which is exactly what a chap did when he slapped a set of these on this scirocco (admitidly one of those epic fail moments)

Ah, the cabriolet -got it
As for glueing - well I replaced the GTi skirts with the R ones, and was assured that the mounting pins were the same. Turns out they are not - panel shop could care less, they did not let me know so I could get the relevant pins, so they just stuck them on with the provided double sided tape. So far, they're still on...
